Show Information

What do you get when you combine a "cereal killer," a DMV office, two robbers, and a plain ol' optimistic girl named Jeane? DMV The Musical! DMV, a musical comedy full of pun, is about Jeane and her attempt to survive one of the most stressful points of a teen's life: her driver's test. Will she be able to withstand angry DMV workers, a road test, crazy customers, and her mom? Or will the venomous clique, the Destiny Three, break her down to the point where she doesn't even want to drive anymore? Find out while watching DMV The Musical!

The show features 23 musical numbers, and is about an hour and a half long.  This is a unique theatrical opportunity, as this production is a workshop.  Lines and lyrics will change, songs will potentially be cut or added, and every actor is a part of the process of making this show better.  This is the premiere production of the show.

Full Character Breakdown

Jeane: A sixteen year old girl who is full of optimism, despite her father dying the year before. Jeane is an extrovert, and is not afraid to speak what is on her mind. She has difficulty being attentive.

Paula: Jeane’s Mom. (40 years) A woman who was full of the same energy Jeane has, but has now been knocked down by many struggles, including losing her husband a year ago.

Dave: Paula’s boyfriend. Dave has been dating Paula for a month. He is very stern and knows what he wants and how to get it.

Destiny: The leader of the Destiny Three. She is the popular girl in school that needs attention because her father never would give her any. She rules the group with power and a louder voice than the other two. Boys in school have crushes on her, and are afraid of her at the same time.

Destiny #2: The backup. Destiny #2 loves the power that she has when she is with Destiny #1. She has always envied Destiny #1 for her ability to lead the group, and has always wanted to be her.

Destiny #3: Destiny #3 used to be best friends with Jeane, until Destiny convinced her to dismiss Jeane. Destiny #3 is thought of as the stupid one, by both her friends and others. However, Destiny #3 in a lot of ways is incredibly smart. She lacks the ability to effectively communicate her ideas with others.

CSR’s #1-3: Customer Service Representatives at the DMV. (1 Female, 2 male or female) These characters all are very realistic. They are not afraid to say it like it is, and they are not easily hurt. These characters have built up giant walls around themselves.

Warren/DMV Ensemble: The Hunk Road Test Examiner. Warren is the token hot guy who has his looks going for him, but not his brain. He is a guy with a big heart, and is a very calm person.

Don/Police Officer #1/DMV Ensemble: Road Test Examiner, Police Officer. As Don, he is a pretty down-to-earth guy. He is not rude, and does his job fairly. As Police Officer #1, he is “bad cop.” He is intimidating, off-the-cuff, and doesn’t work well with others.

Tou/Police Officer #2/DMV Ensemble: As both characters, he is a genuine and respectful man.

Brianne/DMV Ensemble: The Camera Girl. Brianne is the pinnacle of what a good worker is.

Susan/DMV Ensemble: Road Test Examiner. Susan is ditzy and forgets things frequently, however, she tries her best.

Frosted Flake/Chriss/Ensemble: The multi-personality. Frosted Flake is a know-it-all, who tries to be intimidating, but in the end is just a teen who doesn’t know who he really is. Chriss is a man who has had a lot of struggles in his life, and has found that his escape is through his motorcycle.

Destiny's Mom/Cordelia/Ensemble: The Mom. Destiny’s Mom realizes that she spoils her daughter too much, but she also realizes that her mother never would spoil her. She cares a lot about the Destiny’s, and tries to look after how they act, but is not happy with what she typically sees.

Lucinda/Velma/Ensemble: The tough one. Lucinda is a realist, who has always never expected anyone to do anything for her. She has raised herself and her siblings, and knows what it’s like to fail, and has expected herself to fail, even when she is talented in something. Velma is a tough cookie that has been to jail quite a few times.

Logan/Automatic Number Caller/Ensemble: The kindling romance. Logan is the potential love interest for Jeane, even if she doesn’t see it yet. Logan is always there for her. He is calm and has a lot of patience, but doesn’t entirely know how to express his feelings.

Robber #1/Customer #4/Ensemble

Robber #2/Customer #2/Ensemble

Dream Boy #1/Customer #3/Ensemble

Elderly Gentleman/Dream Boy #2/Ensemble
